Getting Started
Getting started with ScanSafe is straightforward. Some minor configuration changes will ensure that your Web traffic passes to the ScanSafe service. The exact configuration required varies depending on your specific network environment.
For example, your existing proxies can proxy-chain to our service, Active Directory can redirect browsers to the service, WCCP can transparently redirect web traffic to the service, and certain firewalls can use port-forwarding. The most versatile deployment is to enable browser “auto-detect” in AD and an auto configuration script (that we provide!) so that everyone gets filtered Internet access without having to reconfigure their settings if they leave the network. With this method visitors and guests can get Internet access by simply enabling “auto detect.”
To apply web access policies to individual users or AD groups, or to identify web activity by user and group, you will want to install the ScanSafe Connector.
